Dr. Nishith Shah is one of the pioneer arthroscopists of India. He started doing exclusive arthroscopy work in 1988 at Ahmedabad. He was trained in USA by Dr. Dinesh Patel and others at Massachusetts General Hospital Boston & Dr. Stuart Springer at Hospital for joint diseases at New York.


He specializes in Sports medicine, pediatric knee ligaments injuries and management of ligament deficient knees. He was the first Indian doctor to be selected  by Arthroscopy Association of North America [AANA) for traveling fellowship of arthroscopy journal in 1998. He has worked with Stephen Snyder, Freddie Fu, Christopher Harner, Mike Strobel, Richard Ferkel and many others. He Is a very active member of Indian arthroscopy society and have given more than hundred presentations on different subjects of arthroscopy, nationally as well as internationally.


His main interest is in ACL preservation surgery. His Aash arthroscopy center has already published preliminary report of 13 cases of ACL femoral avulsion repair in 2018. He loves to address PCL injuries and pediatric ligament injuries. He has successfully performed PCL reconstruction in Prepubescent children with Mother's allograft in 2006 & afterwards. He has published scientific papers on pediatric PCL injuries. He has also written a chapter on revision ACL surgery in "knee surgery" published in 2016.


Dr. Shah is attached to a 1200 beds teaching hospital as an arthroscopist and sports medicine consultant. He also has his private practice at Ahmedabad, a city of approximately 5 million people.
