James is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
He has a general practice with particular expertise in Paediatric limb reconstruction. He is member of the Executive committee of the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedics and the current secretary, a past president of the British Limb Reconstruction Society and a former training programme director for South Yorkshire.
He has served as an examiner for the Intercollegiate Board in the FRCS(Tr&Orth) examinations and examined internationally. He has authored over 50 articles in the peer reviewed literature, and has educated a generation of Paediatric Orthopaedic surgeons via the Fellowship programme at Sheffield Children’s.
He has acted as a Specialist Adviser to National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), UK. He is a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal, Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics Am, Journal of Children’s Orthopaedics, Strategies in Trauma and Limb reconstruction, Current Orthopaedics, BJR, JILLR, Emergency Medicine Journal, The Foot and British Medical Journal.
